Stellar Refrigeration Services Hosts Ammonia Safety and Maintenance Workshop

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 21, 2011) – Stellar, a fully-integrated firm focused on design, engineering, construction and mechanical services worldwide, hosted their annual “Ammonia Safety & Maintenance Workshop,” April 14 and 15, 2011. The two-day workshop, held in Jacksonville, Fla., covered a variety of topics geared toward introducing new technology and safety innovation to more than 40 maintenance and plant management personnel. Stellar invited product specialists from several nationally recognized vendors to speak at the workshop, including Rockwell Automation, Vilter Manufacturing, GEA FES, Evapco, Parker Hannifin and GE Intelligence Platforms.
Upon arrival, participants attended a meet-and-greet luncheon, followed by an afternoon-long discussion on sustainable energy management systems, compressor packages, industrial heat pumps, CO2 systems organized by Stellar’s Refrigeration Services division. The second day of the workshop included seminars on automation trends presented by Rockwell, and a seminar on digital process safety management (PSM) presented by Christine Shelley, Stellar’s PSM project manager. In addition, Evapco presented a tutorial on maintaining evaporative condensers and Parker Hannifin, which specializes in valves presented on valve and system safety. The workshop concluded with a tour of Stellar’s Corporate Headquarters and Compressor Services Fabrication Facility with a “hands on” review of Mycom and Frick Screw Compressors.
