THE STELLAR FOUNDATION SPONSORS “BACK TO SCHOOL” PARTY FOR NORTH FLORIDA FOSTER CHILDREN

Jacksonville, Fla. – August 7, 2007 – The Stellar Foundation, formed to assist local civic and community service programs, sponsored an exciting “Back to School” party on Tuesday, August 7 for 400 area foster children.

Family Support Services of North Florida holds the annual party at Jacksonville Indoor Sports, with the intent of providing assistance and a fun environment to children in foster care as they prepare to return to class. Kids received free school supplies and pizza, and also enjoyed fun activities like face painting, jump houses, football throwing contests, and more.

“The Stellar Foundation is committed to supporting worthy local organizations like Family Support Services,” said Ali Korman, director of community relations for Stellar. “We’re very proud to be one of the sponsors of this event, which puts smiles on so many vulnerable kids’ faces.”

Designed to formalize the company’s community support program, the Stellar Foundation will assist civic and community service programs that encourage volunteerism and enhance the effectiveness of the non-profit sector, address community needs, promote leadership, and support diversity in the workforce and society.

Any 501(c)3 with the resources and manpower to develop, implement and successfully complete its proposed program that meets the goals of the Foundation’s mission is encouraged to submit a grant application. The Stellar Foundation will review applications and award grants on a quarterly basis the first of March, June, September and December of each year. Additionally, Stellar employees are encouraged to support the Foundation through the company’s matching gift program. Stellar will match 100 percent of donations to the employee’s non-profit organization of choice.
