Stellar Employees Don Denim to Fight Breast Cancer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (October 8, 2007) – The Stellar Foundation encouraged Stellar employees to wear jeans to work last week, but it wasn’t a typical “casual Friday” at the office. Friday, October 5th was Lee National Denim Day, where women across the country wore denim to work and made a $5 donation to support the fight against breast cancer. Stellar employees, both male AND female, did their part, raising $3,000 for the Donna Hicken Foundation.

“The Stellar Foundation was formed to support worthwhile civic and community organizations in Northeast Florida and all the other communities we serve, and we can’t think of a better cause to support than the Donna Hicken Foundation, which provides a widespread range of services for local women being treated for breast cancer,” said Ali Korman, Executive Director of the Stellar Foundation.

Designed to formalize Stellar’s community support program, the Stellar Foundation assists civic and community service programs that encourage volunteerism and enhance the effectiveness of the non-profit sector, address community needs, promote leadership, and support diversity in the workforce and society.
